A statement from Sadr's office received by “Shafaq News" , said that " Mr. Muqtada al- Sadr has visited Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani at his home in Najaf and talked about the overall situation in Iraq."
According to the statement, the two sides stressed "the need to provide security and services to the Iraqi people , reject sectarianism and terrorism , stand up against corruption and preserve the Islamic and national unity ."
The statement added that the two sides stressed the "need for the Iraqi people to be of high degree of responsibility in the selection of the fittest and most efficient in the upcoming parliamentary elections because it represents the only way to change for the better ."
Moqtada al -Sadr visited earlier , religious Marjaa , Ishaq al-Fayad in his office in the holy city of Najaf .
The next elections are expected to be organized on April 30 after a series of political crises and security setbacks that ravaged the country throughout the past years and the government, which called the government of national unity on the grounds that it included the majority of the political forces .
