This came during talks held by Obama with the Speaker of the parliament, Osama al-Nujaifi , who is on a visit to Washington , accompanied by an Iraqi parliamentary delegation .

According to a White House statement , briefed by " Shafaq News " , Obama and Nujaifi stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the United States and Iraq.

They also stressed the need for political and security measures in order to confront terrorism in Iraq that the country has witnessed since the surge in violence .

In this context , Obama and Vice President Joe Biden discussed with the Iraqi delegation , efforts to integrate the tribal forces officially in the security units , in line with commitments by the Iraqi government .

Obama and Biden expressed strong U.S. support for continued cooperation between tribal leaders and the Iraqi government in facing al-Qaeda.

Iraq has began its military campaign against al-Qaeda and " Daash " after the death of a senior commander in the army , a group of officers and soldiers by a number of " terrorist elements " in Anbar .

Iraq has won its campaign against the armed groups , the support of the governments of nine countries that have a prominent role both in the region and the world as well as the United Nations and the European Union.

The events have evolved after the authorities arrested Sunni MP, Ahmed al-Alwani accused of inciting sectarian violence in the country and his brother being killed in armed clashes erupted with the executing force to arrest him in Anbar , followed by the lifting the protest’s tents against Nuri al-Maliki’s government

Battles still continue between police forces and tribesmen loyal to the government against the insurgents in Anbar province.
