"After the recent events in Iraq, as you know that Iraq today is not Iraq that we knew two weeks ago, the people of Kurdistan sees a golden opportunity in front of them to determine the future with its leaders , The issue of the independence of Kurdistan has became close to reality, and we have every right to decide our fate on our own way and do not want to stay like that”.

Sorani explained that Kouchner "know how serious the Kurdish political leadership in taking the opinion of the people regarding the referendum on self-determination as a normal right “.

He added that " Kurdistan Regional Government deal with the diplomatic statesmanship in the new reality of Iraq, and that it believes that it is time to address the mistakes of Sykes-Picot agreement, but they prefer to do everything through dialogue and not by engaging in bloody conflicts with others."

He added that "the declaration of independence of Kurdistan is not far-and it is a right for the people of Kurdistan and this issue must not be dealt with   as a charge that haunts us”.
