Battat , who was arrested in Iraq after his group fired mortars at Saudi Arabia said that the political leaders of Iraqi Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki will be killed " if they do not release him within 24 hours.
The media adviser to the Iraqi government, Ali al-Moussawi said in an interview for “Shafaq News " , that " these threats is a criminal process not just statements."
The State of Law coalition is led by the Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki.
Al-Moussawi called the Iraqi judiciary to intervene in this case.
Al-Battat accused the Iraqi authorities of detaining him in order to achieve balance after arresting sectarian Sunni MP, Ahmed al-Alwani in Ramadi city on Dec. 28 in a raid that killed al-Alwani’s brother and a number of bodyguards.
Watheq al-Battat is an Iraqi cleric and imam of Shiite Husaynia of Imam Kadhim in Najaf and the Secretary General of Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq and the commander of al-Mukhtar Army , a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Kufa University in 2010 and the military college in Tehran according to what he allege .
Watheq al-Battat announced that his group adopted striking Saudi stations by missiles in 21 November in 2013, and stressed that this operation came in response to disbelievers’ opinions, and threatened on the implementation of other operations inside Saudi territory.
Battat said in a press statement that Mukhtar army adopts the process of targeting the Saudi Center which is about 40 kilometers from al- Batin city near the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border.
Battat’s credibility and the fact that he stood behind his adopted processes increase when threats rises.
