Shafaq News / A spokesman for the US Air Force announced the suspension of all shipments of American weapons and ammunition to the Iraqi security forces.
In an email of the US Department of Defense, spokesman Bryan Perkins said that the shipments include spare parts and missiles for the Iraq fleet of F-16s, adding in his email, seen by Inside Defense Website, that delivery of weapons will resume when conditions in Iraq are safe enough.
The news website added that the handover will return again "when the conditions in Iraq are safe enough to resume." The last shipment was delivered on November 14.
A $ 1.8 billion deal was signed in May 2016 on Sidewinder missiles, Maverick missiles, and other weapons for Iraq.
