Shafaq News / The leader of the "National" coalition, Iyad Allawi criticized on Sunday the statements of Ali Akbar Velayati, adviser to the Supreme Leader of Iran in international affairs, in which the latter expressed Tehran's support to the Prime Minister-designate to form the new Iraqi government.

Allawi said in a statement today, "Once again, Iran crosses the red lines, and proves its interventions in the Iraqi issue by challenging the will of Iraqis and affirm that the Prime Minister-designate will gain confidence and that the axis (Tehran - Baghdad – Damascus-Beirut - Palestine) will be one axis to expel the Americans and their allies, according to what came in Velayati speech. "

He added, "While we condemn this blatant interference in Iraqi affairs, we warn Iran that it will not be able to achieve its expansionary dreams in the Arab region, including Iraq, this is much greater than its size and dreams, and that the principles of neighborhood require the respect of neighboring countries not to interfere in their affairs, which is what we wish from Iran and other countries. "

Allawi added, "The policy pursued by Iran in its dealings in Iraq and the countries of the region will lead to further escalation and complexity of the conditions in it, so we repeat our call for Iran to adopt a wiser and rational policy and deal with the countries of the region peer and peer, do not deal with them like the dependent because this will backfire on them and will cause harm in their interest and the interests of its people first. "

Velayati has said that ending the American presence in Iraq will lead to ending their presence in Syria, by saying” The Americans will soon leave these two countries”.

He added in his speech during a ceremony in Arbaenya of the prominent Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Deputy Chairman of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis held in Qom city. Americans must realize that they are going from Iraq, and given the available information, a large percentage of the Iraqi parliament voted to remove the Americans, and the prominent Iraqi figures accompanied this move.

He added that Iran is the number one force in the region, whether the enemy wants it or not, and that Tehran - Baghdad - Damascus - Beirut - Palestine line includes the resistance front, and that this line will continue the path.

Velayati confirmed Iran's support for the Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, while his appointment is being rejected by the Iraqi street, saying that " he will gain confidence soon, a warrior and a prominent person who is secured."

The President of the Republic, Barham Ahmed Salih commissioned the former Minister of Communications, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, last week to form a new government that would pave the way for early elections in Iraq.

Allawi issued a speech after his assignment, a number of pledges, the most prominent of which is the non-acceptance of any candidate imposed by political forces in forming his government, to go ahead in preparing for early parliamentary elections, to restrict weapons to the state, and to hold the killers of protesters accountable, calling for the necessity of continuing demonstrations in the country.

The protesters in the Iraqi regions and cities that are witnessing protests since the beginning of last October did not appoint Allawi to form the government and went out with massive demonstrations, condemning the failure to implement their demands, and the insistence of the ruling political forces to continue monopolizing power and managing the country.
