on Tuesday mass resignation to the President of the Council because of what they said as being under pressure by the parliament and the judiciary to apply some decisions .

Such a move would strike the efforts made by IHEC to conduct parliamentary elections as scheduled on 30 of next April.

IHEC said in a statement reported for " Shafaq News " that "At a time , IHEC is approaching to complete all preparations for the next electoral benefit after it advanced in the completion of these preparations , IHEC find itself today in front of important and historical commitment represented by the need to preserve its independence and impartiality and stood at the same distance from everyone. "

“IHEC swear to work with integrity , impartiality and commitment to the principles of the Constitution and the laws in force ."

IHEC noted in its statement that " it is being exposed to very large pressures due to the conflict between the legislative and judicial branches in the nature of the decisions issued by each side and on the interpretation of paragraph (3 ) of Article (8) of the Electoral Act No. (45 ) for 2013 which obliges each party of IHEC of its decision application despite conflict with the decision of the other party . "

The Iraqi parliament has rejected the decisions of the judiciary to expel candidates for the elections, including prominent political opponents of the policies of Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki.

The parliament demanded the return of the excluded candidates to contest in the next elections if sentences were not issued against them of conducting a crime contrary to the requirement of good behavior that must be provided in the desired candidate .

IHEC said in its statement that " it does not want to be a party to any dispute and to get out of this vicious circle so the members of IHEC made a decision to submit their resignations en masse to the President of the Board of Commissioners ."

IHEC pointed that " the resigning members are waiting for the approval of the President of the Council if it continues this pressure and a final solution has not been provided to this issue , in order to preserve the independency of the institution in line with the principles of professional work since the establishment of IHEC and until now ."

Maliki's opponents have accused the judiciary of succumbing to the government to keep them from running in the next election after the exclusion of a number of them under the pretext of the lack of good behavior .

Maliki also faces charges of exclusivity in managing the country and moving towards dictatorship with his quest for a third term in the upcoming elections as keeping his opponents away will bring him closer from achieving his goal .
