Shafaq News / The Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Adnan Al-Zorfi called on Sunday to lift or easing sanctions imposed on Iran, warning of a "humanitarian catastrophe" that has health and security implications for Iraq.

"Helping Iran to combat Corona virus will contribute to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe that the Iranian people are suffering in a frightening way," Al-Zorfi tweeted.

He added, "The international community should help them by lifting or easing the sanctions and providing medical treatments, because of this health and security implications for Iraq, as it is the neighbor, which is the most extended and linked to the Islamic Republic."
