Shafaq News/ Baghdad Operations Command announced Wednesday that a number of security forces were injured by a grenade attack targeting them near the Central Bank of Iraq in the center of the capital.

The command said in a brief statement that 9 members of the security forces were injured, including serious cases, following a grenade attack at the central bank checkpoint.

Al-Rashid Street in central Baghdad, which includes the building of the Central Bank of Iraq, is a hit-and-run operation between security forces and protesters trying to impose their control on the street because of the importance of the existence of two important bridges linking the two sides of Rusafa and Karkh.
