Shafaq News / MP in the Finance Committee of Kurdistan Parliament revealed, on Wednesday, that the cut from the salaries of public sector employees will be less than 21% in the current month.
Hifidar Ahmed told Shafaq News agency, "the deduction from the salaries of public sector employees in Kurdistan will be less than 21% for the current month of September", indicating, "the deduction will continue until the financial conditions in the region improve".
He added, "Kurdistan Parliament's Financial Committee met today to discuss the issue of the government's recovery of its debts", explaining that it, "took notes on the government's report".
Regarding the demands of some MPs to summon the prime minister in the parliament against the backdrop of the economic crisis, Hefidar said, "So far, they have not been able to collect the required signatures".
Since last June, Kurdistan Regional Government has deducted 21% of the salaries of employees due to the financial crisis, noting that these measures are temporary and include the salaries for this month only.
