Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, on Monday on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit in Jeddah, where the two discussed key issues, including oil, water, and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

According to a statement from Iraq’s Foreign Ministry, both sides reviewed existing understandings on water management, stressing the importance of regulating releases in a manner that serves mutual interests and "safeguards" the two countries’ water security.

Fidan also highlighted the “smooth” operations of Turkish companies in Iraq and their role in development projects, affirming Ankara’s interest in expanding economic and investment cooperation with Baghdad.
