Shafaq News/ An army colonel accused of torturing a Sunni Jihadist has been released after less than two weeks in detention, a source revealed on Saturday.
The source told Shafaq News Agency that the colonel spent two weeks in detention for charges related to torturing an ISIS militant who had been captured in Tuz Khurmato, east of Saladin, earlier.
"The officer was apprehended under the pressure of a certain political party," said the source but refused to point fingers.
Shafaq News Agency reached out to several government and security officials in Saladin to inquire about the matters, but they refused to make any statements.
