Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of the Interior revealed details about the operation to liberate the German activist Haile Mavis on Friday, 72 hours after she was kidnapped by unknown persons in Baghdad.

"Significant efforts were made by the Prime Minister, the Minister of the Interior and the intelligence from the first minute of the kidnapping of the German activist," Major General Saad Maan, director of relations and media department at the ministry, said in a statement reported to Shafaq News agency.

He added that "the follow-up through cameras, intelligence effort, and eyewitnesses help us to reach the location of the kidnapped which is Baghdad/ Al-Rusafa."

Maan continued, "Efforts are continuing to complete investigations, especially judicial efforts, and all those involved in this operation will be arrested.”
