Shafaq News/ MP of Saladin ripped into the security authorities over the "obfuscation" of the investigations into the "bloody massacres" that took place in the governorate in the past few years.
MP Jasem Hussein al-Jbara, Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, "all the investigative committees and their 'blacked out' results are mere words on paper. They have never released their results, neither in public nor in private, despite the huge number of civil and innocent victims over the past years."
Al-Jbara called for a genuine reconciliation between the government and security authorities on the side, and the residents on the other side, stressing the need for imposing the rule of law, punishing complicit officers, and involving the residents in the security duties.
The Parliamentarian highlighted the favoritism of some security departments that "failed to perform its duties. All it does is denouncing and condemning. This infuriated the popular and official bodies in Saladin, as the rights of the victims and their families have been extensively drained.
"The majority of the liberated territories are tarnished with fear and concerns of security breaches. The residents do not trust the security plans and strategies laid to protect the residential areas by some security departments."
