Shafaq News / the Iraqi security forces fired live rounds on Wednesday to disperse demonstrators in the city of Nasiriya, the capital of Dhi Qar Governorate.
Shafaq News Agency correspondent said, "The security forces have fired live bullets and used tear gas, canisters, and pepper spray to disperse the demonstrators in the city of Nasiriya and reopen the bridge."
Meanwhile, a medical source in Dhi Qar Health Department said to Shafaq News Agency 18 demonstrators and police officers were wounded today.
"Eight demonstrators were fired with live bullets, while 10 police officers were thrown with stones and bricks." He said.
Clashes renewed today Wednesday between demonstrators and security forces for the third day in a row.
The demonstrators are calling for the dismissal of Governor Nazem Al-Waeli.
The Violent clashes in Nasiriya over the past two days killed two demonstrators and injured dozens of other demonstrators and police.
The police officers and employees are also subjected to assaults such as throwing stones and stabbing with knives, according to the police statement.
