Shafaq News / The employees of the General Company for Iraqi Ports (GCPI) organized, today, Thursday, a protest in Basra, southern Iraq, to ​​protest a decision issued by Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar.

 Shafaq News Agency reporter, in Basra, said that the employees of the GCPI organized, this morning, a protest in front of the company’s headquarters in Al-Maaqal area in the governorate.

This stand came in protest of the decision of the Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul Jabbar, to transfer oil ports from the GCPI to the Ministry of Oil.

The reporter added that the demonstrators threatened to escalate the demonstrations in front of the Basra Oil Company, asking Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to intervene to reject this decision.
