Shafaq News / Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian praised on Sunday Iraq's efforts to send Iranian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
Appreciating the assistance and facilities provided for the journey of Iranian pilgrims on the day of Arafah, as well as coordination for the Iranian pilgrims’ trip on Arbaeen, he praised the efforts made by Iraq to send Iranian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
A statement by the Iranian government said that Abdollahian conferred with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, on the possibility of resuming the sending of Iranian pilgrims to Umrah and expressed hope that the necessary preparations and facilities for the resumption of Umrah will be provided in accordance with COVID19 conditions.
Meanwhile, Hussein offered readiness to continue assistance to facilitate Arafa and Arbaeen as well as the Hajj rituals.
He emphasized the Iraqi government’s readiness to pave the way for the proper holding of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The Iraqi government will make its maximum efforts to facilitate the Arbaeen pilgrims’ visit.
The two sides emphasized the need to follow up the agreements made during the Iraqi Prime Minister's visit to Tehran regarding the expansion of bilateral relations and also facilitating the Iranian and Iraqi pilgrims’ trips on religious occasions, especially Arbaeen.
