Shafaq News / The Iraqi Minister of Justice, Salar Abdulsattar Muhammad, assured, on Monday, the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad of the health of the Iranian prisoners.
The Ministry of Justice said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, "Minister Salar Abdulsattar Muhammad received today, in his office, the Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, and his accompanying delegation", indicating that the two sides, "discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to several topics of common interest".
During the meeting, Muhammad affirmed that, "Given the conditions that the country is going through due to COVID-19, the Ministry started from the very first day adhering to the preventive measures", adding, "The Ministry has forbidden visits at present time and resorted to electronic messages between the prisoners and their families", stressing that Iranian prisoners are in good health and treated according to the international treaties and conventions on human rights.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador commended the efforts made by the minister and his staff to ensure the safety of the prisoners, taking into consideration the humanitarian aspects in implementing the principles of human rights."
