Shafaq News / Al-Fatah Alliance in Diyala announced, on Wednesday, that considering Diyala as one or two constituencies is the best option for the upcoming parliamentary elections, calling for taking into account the sectarian overlap when dividing the governorates into electoral districts.

The head of Al-Fatah, MP Hussein Jassim Al-Zuhairi, told Shafaq News agency, "it is best in the upcoming elections to consider Diyala as one constituency so that all the governorate's components are fairly represented".

He continued, "If this is not possible, then the best solution is to divide the governorate into two districts; Khalis and Baquba together, since the residents of the two areas are close to each other socially and religiously, while the second is Balad Ruz, Miqdadiyah and Khanaqin, for the same reason, in addition to help organizing the calculations of women's quota".

Al-Zuhairi pointed out that the chances of his coalition during the upcoming elections will be strong, effective, and much better than the previous elections.
