Shafaq News/ The sirens were activated inside the US Embassy, located in the Green Zone in central Baghdad, a security source reported on Wednesday.

The source told Shafaq News, "The activation of the sirens was part of a routine training aimed at testing security readiness and enhancing precautionary measures within the embassy."

“The drill was not related to any current security threat.”

This measure is a routine procedure in diplomatic facilities to assess preparedness and emergency response.

On Tuesday, Iraqi security forces entered alert level G following Iranian missile strikes on Israel. Instructions were issued to deploy forces in vacant areas after an attack targeted a US diplomatic site belonging to the embassy near Baghdad airport.

The state of emergency ended this morning, but health institutions remain on standby to receive Lebanese refugees or any potential casualties from the Israeli attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut.
