Shafaq News / An official source stated, on Tuesday, that a "high-level" security delegation arrived at Al-Hout prison in Dhi Qar Governorate, after news about targeting it.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, that a high-level security delegation from the Ministry of Interior headed by the Undersecretary of the Interior Minister for Federal Security, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Nimah, arrived today in Dhi Qar Governorate, indicating that he met the security officials in Nasiriyah prison.
"The visit comes to tighten prison protection measures after repeating information about intentions to target it", the source said.
Nasiriyah Central Prison, also known as "Al-Hoot", is a maximum-security prison located near Nasiriyah in Dhi Qar Governorate. The prison, which is opened in 2008, is the largest in southern Iraq.
Media reports often emerge about terrorist groups attacking al-Hout prison, while Al-Rafidain Operations Command, the force in charge of these areas, denies.
