Shafaq News / A local official in Diyala said on Friday that a UN humanitarian mission had arrived north of Al-Miqdadiyah, which was one of the largest strongholds of ISIS and the scene of repeated and violent attacks.
Al-Miqdadiya district, Hatem Al-Tamimi, told Shafaq News agency that the purpose of the visit is to coordinate with the local and federal governments to implement humanitarian and service programs, adding that this is the first step for the return of humanitarian organizations to the affected areas in the district, and to contribute to the restoration of normal life, rehabilitation of service and life joints, as well as the implementation of effective community programs.
Tens of humanitarian and international organizations have been present in Diyala since the fall of the previous regime and until now, carrying out simple missions and limited projects in the affected areas.
