Shafaq News/ The family of victims of the protests have filed nearly 200 lawsuits against the former head of the crisis cell in Dhi Qar province, Lieutenant General Jamil al-Shammari, the Bar Association of Dhi Qar said on Wednesday.
The Association said today that victims of the demonstrations suppression in Dhi Qar filed 200 lawsuits against Jamil al-Shammari before the investigative committee to investigate the killing of demonstrators in Dhi Qar.
The UN Human Rights Commission in Iraq said that 42 demonstrators had been killed and 492 wounded in Dhi Qar during the bloody three days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday).
The Iraqi judiciary issued a warrant of arrest and travel ban against the former head of the crisis cell in Dhi Qar Lieutenant General Jamil al-Shammari, on the back ground of accusations of being responsible for killing demonstrators in Nasiriyah.
