“Anonymous threats were sent to the Department of Qayyarah oil field ( 70 km south of Mosul ) of the North Oil Company , warning from the consequences of the completion of a project to build fences and watchtowers around the perimeter of the field,” The source told “Shafaq News”.

He added that unidentified men have bombed two towers of control and sabotaged tens of meters from the fence two weeks ago , which was established recently .

The source pointed out that the completion of the fence and watchtowers means reduce stealing crude oil and reduce the sabotage of oil wells and pipeline networks transporting crude oil ,it is likely that armed groups are behind these threats .

The crude oil pipeline that runs from Kirkuk fields through Nineveh province heading towards the Turkish port of Ceyhan has stopped pumping oil since several days after bombing some of its parts by insurgents.
