According to Anatolia press report briefed by " Shafaq News " , "the regional government of Kurdistan Region began preparations for the extension of pipelines to transport oil and gas to and from Iran."
According to the report, " one of the pipelines will carry crude oil to Iran , while anther will be allocated to transport gas from Iran to the region ," noting that " Iran will extend both of the two lines , and that the delegations of Iran and the region will have mutual visits , in order to complete the project."
The report pointed out that the region is currently exporting oil to Iran via the three border gates " Haji Imran “, " Bashammakh " , and " Broyzkhan " by 5 thousand truck of a capacity of 25 tons , while the region’s government is seeking to transport oil through the pipeline foe being less expensive .
For his part , Director General of the relations between the region and Iran , Abdullah Acre said that "the talks in this regard between the two sides had been launched since 2013”, adding that " the talks will determine the quantities of gas coming into the region , compared to the amount of oil imported by Iran."
Kurdistan has ended last year from extending a pipeline to export oil to Turkey , which angered the federal government in Baghdad that rejects the efforts of Kurdistan to export oil without its acceptance.
