A statement of the government, reported for " Shafaq News " , that “ its spokesman, Saven Dazea , said that “ the agreement to export crude oil from the region to Turkey via pipeline was signed by the two parties , noting that they are "committed to the agreement and they will go for it”.
The delay in the start of exporting oil is due to “technical reasons", adding that “the region is working on the issue of exporting oil since a year and a half ago and “did not finish the last stages of signing the contract but 20 days ago only.”
Dazea pointed out that late start in exporting oil to Turkey “does not depend on the approval of the Iraqi government officials, ", adding the region will export oil soon .
He noted that the matter is related to time “it could be after weeks perhaps or after the New Year to export once technical factors are available”.
Erbil and Ankara have signed an agreement last month to export oil along with other agreements in the oil and gas fields.
