Abdul Rahman said in a press conference held in Sulaimaniyah that the region live a real financial crisis, noting that last year only witnessed a reduction in the operating budget by a trillion and 513 billion dinars.
He added that the first priority of his ministry insuring the staff salaries and basic services.
Abdul Rahman said that the Ministry of Peshmarga dues since 2007 to the current year amount to 11 trillion and 513 billion dinars, as the federal government did not send them so far.
He pointed out that the federal government had send in 2014 a total of four installments, an installment in the first month by 566 billion dinars, the second installment in February by 548 billion dinars, the third installment in October by 583 billion dinars and the last installment in November by 583 billion dinars, noting that the sum of these installments amounted to two billion 280 billion dinars at a time when financial entitlements of the region for last year was 18 trillion and 280 billion dinars, as referred to by the final paragraph of the statement of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance, meaning that Baghdad did not send 16 trillion dues of the region.
He said at a time when the regional government is committed to the Iraqi public budget for 2015 law, the Iraqi government didn’t send the financial dues of Erbil as they should.
The information notes that the Iraqi government has sent over the past five months , two billion and 265 billion dinars to the region at a time its financial dues in these months are 6 trillion and 173 billion dinars.
