A statement by the Iraqi Ports received by Shafaq News, that maritime guidance shifts during last month amounted to 512 shifts that included guidance operations for departure and entry of ships, for different loads , sizes and all types of commercial vessels.

He said that these shifts were, according to the priorities as following, Umm Qasr port 182 shift, followed by the port of Khor Al-Zubair 113 shifts , al-Maaqal port 100 shifts, Faw Marina port 57 shifts , Abu Folous port 35 shifts and finally the liquid gas port 25 shifts therefore the daily rate conducted by Iraqi pilots are 12 shifts and around the clock.

The statement added that the Department of Marine control was overseeing all guidance operations noting that this figure has not been recorded in any port in the region.
