He added, "The competent ministerial committee of financial and economic affairs discussed the fiscal policy in the country and provided insights into the Council of Ministers on this issue, which has reviewed a number of ideas and practical suggestions to overcome the current crisis," the government's measures came on the background of the significant decline that hit the financial returns of the state as a result of the big decline in oil on oil global prices as well as local production of crude oil due to the volume of emergent security conditions.

Zebari explained, that the mentioned ministerial committee stressed the need to "reduce non-core expenditures in ministries , state bodies allocations and pressure on spending as much as possible to avoid the aggravation of the financial crisis and low liquidity," adding that the meeting discussed a number of options available to the government to finance the deficit of available sources during what remained of the current fiscal year period.
