A statement issued by the Ministry of Electricity , reported for "Shafaq News", that “ the Minister said during a meeting with the American ambassador in Iraq, Stewart Jones that "the experience of American companies in the electricity industry field is big."

The minister expressed hope to "expand dealing with them in order to progress this important service, along with our need at the present time to   fuel production in order to supply the General production stations."

According to the statement, Fahdawi stressed the need to "invest many sites in a number of provinces of the country that contain fields to use them in the extraction of gas, which will add generating new energies, as well as investment sites for the construction of generating units that operate to generate electricity from the wind and sun."

For his part, the American Ambassador confirmed "comprehensive support of the American government and American companies to develop Iraq's electricity system."

Iraqis are still complaining of frequent stop of electrical power despite the fact that the Ministry of Electricity had pledged to provide electricity service throughout the day in the current year.
