“The Chinese company subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation will work on engineering, procurement and construction in the field as it is expected to produce 535 thousand barrels per day by 2017,” The Iraqi Oil Ministry said in news, reported by Reuters, briefed by “Shafaq News”.
Iraq has signed a contract in 2010 to develop Halfaya with China National Petroleum Corporation , the French company Total and Malaysia's Petronas governmental company for a fee of 1.40 $ per barrel.
The Chinese company owns a 37.5 percent stake in Halfaya field.
Chinese National Petroleum Corporation said last year that the first phase of Halfaya field began working with a production capacity of 100 thousand barrels per day.
