Abdul-Mahdi said in a speech at the third scientific conference of oil and gas which will be held in Maysan province that "we are trying to stop the gas associated with oil burning in a period of time that may not exceed two years," noting that " we have passed an important step in this area but half the gas is still burning ".

The minister pointed out that " liquid gas in Iraq is enough and practically we import a few of its quantities," adding that "we will be exporters of liquid gas soon."
