Shafaq News / The director of Kani Masi of Amadiya district in Duhok said today, Wednesday, that Turkish aircrafts bombed again two areas in the district, which caused damage to farms.

The district administrator Serbest Akrawi told Shafaq News agency, “Turkey bombarded, on Wednesday, two areas west and south of the sub-district.”

Akrawi added, "The bombing hit the village of Deshish and Zunar Kiste villages, causing damage to farms."

Turkish aircraft carried out this afternoon, Wednesday, nine raids targeting a "strategic area" in the Kani Masi of Amadiya.

Eyewitnesses reported, to Shafaq News agency, that the targeted area is strategic since it’s expected that tunnels for the PKK are located.

Turkey has regularly attacked Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants, both in its mainly Kurdish southeast and in northern Iraq, where the group is based. In June, Ankara launched a new ground offensive, dubbed Operation Claw Tiger that saw Turkish troops advance deeper into Iraq.

Iraq’s foreign ministry then said Baghdad cancelled a visit by Turkey’s defense minister to the country, and summoned the Turkish ambassador to inform him of “Iraq’s confirmed rejection of his country’s attacks and violations”.
